Staying Motivated

When you are beginning or fairly new to doing work that you love, you feel some reward in that work. But sometimes you might feel at a stand still. Maybe you don’t feel you are improving or maybe it’s getting harder to stay motivated.

If you need some inspiration, check out this video where Ira Glass, host of This American Life, talks about the creative process. It’s under 2 minutes and well worth your time.

Does this apply to you? What do you think?

    • Thanks for stopping by, Vicki! I love Ira’s voice and his delivery in this clip. I like listening to it regularly so I can stay enthusiastic about my creative endeavors.

  1. Definitely true, definitely worth watching.

I think I’ve read the text of that spiel before, but I hadn’t seen the video – really brings the message home in a funny way, both in hearing the words spoken aloud, and the fun games that the animator was playing with the words.

    Thanks so much for sharing!

  2. Love it. Finally someone explained me what those times mean when I get tired of my stories which don’t turn out to be as good as I want them to. Thanks for sharing this.
