A to Z Challenge: Für Elise and Me

One of my best-loved piano pieces is Für Elise by Beethoven. If I ever learn to play the piano, I will be sure to learn this piece.

Do you play the piano? Who are our favorite pianists?

  1. I can play the first few bars of Fur Elise. I only had 2 years of piano when I was in college.

  2. I used to play piano when I was younger. (don’t anymore since I lack a piano)
But this was one of my favorite pieces. I also love Chopin and various rag time artists.

  3. Yup, that’s a nice one! I can play it reasonably well. At least I could when we had a piano! I’m trying to visit all the A-Z Challenge this month.

    • Thanks for visiting, Sharkbytes! Are you also participating in the challenge or just visiting blogs? I couldn’t find your blog link.

  4. Ha, that brings back memories. My two daughters took piano lessons many years ago, and I heard that one almost incessantly after they had finished two years of lessons. I love it anyway. Ha. Best regards to you. Got a lot of other people to visit. Trying to get to all of them this month. Ruby

  5. I don’t play the piano, but I wish I could. A very good friend of mine performs an updated version of Fur Elise that you might enjoy: Sebastian Sidi

Check it out and let me know what you think. I’ve posted about Sebastian a few times over the past years and will be again soon to help promote his upcoming PBS special.

    • Wow, that updated version was so energetic!! Thanks for mentioning it. I would be interested in watching that special, so I’ll be on the lookout for it. 🙂
