Gearing Up for The A to Z Blogging Challenge

I have started preparing some posts for the upcoming A to Z Blogging Challenge. With notes and topics written down, I feel I have a good start. I had to adjust topics a bit after brainstorming and trying to write about that topic, but I am generally happy with my choices after coming back to them.

I have not decided if I will use generic “A is for…” type titles or try to come up with something different for each post. I might add photos and quotes when I can, but I will have to make quick decisions to stay focused on writing. It feels more like blogging boot camp which is great for me!

I know that I need to focus on writing and not the activities that distract me like the internet, Netflix, and TV. I will dedicate blocks of time to write so I can make this happen. Of course, I need to allow for some relaxing time when I just want to zone out for a bit.

I’ll be back on the 1st of April. I hope you join the challenge or at least come back to check my progress! I would be delighted if you subscribed to my blog and left comments 🙂

Have you ever done a blogging challenge? What was your experience like? Any good free photo websites for bloggers?

  1. I’m glad to see bloggers like you preparing themselves to do their best for the Challenge and talking about it on their sites beforehand. Sounds like you’re getting a good grasp on it all.

I’m not sure about the photo sites. I’ve essentially stopped using photos from the internet after a round of blog discussions on various sites a while back left me unsure of how this should be dealt with. To be safe I just stopped using any photos other than my own. If you get some good answers maybe you can do a post on the topic.

Good luck with the April Challenge.

  2. Flickr offers photos that are open for sharing. You’ll need to read through the policies on the site and follow the guidelines, but for the photographers that allow their photos to be shared, it is a great resource. It is set up to share directly to your blog if you set that up. But, again, make sure to read the rules and give proper attribution.

I’m still in denial I suppose that April starts on Friday! I’ve had a few ideas for this A to Z challenge and haven’t pinpointed much of a plan because I keep changing my mind, and I’m not sure I’ll be able to post every day. I may need to fudge the rules a bit to make this fit my life.

  3. Thanks for the feedback, Arlee and Ivy! I might just forget about photos for the challenge unless I am finishing posts quickly. Keep it simple, right?
